Kitchen Tip: How to Soften Butter

~I hardly ever bake. And when I do, rarely would I have the foresight to set out the frozen butter the night before. Fortunately, there are other methods to quickly soften cold or frozen butter.

Directions:
  1. Simply cut butter in half lengthwise, then repeat so you now have 4 sticks. Now slice in half again and again until you have 16 cubes.
  2. Place into a shallow bowl and heat in microwave for 15 seconds.
  3. For frozen butter, do the same but after the first heating, mix the butter around so the harder pieces are on the side. Then microwave for another 15 seconds.
  4. Voila- softened butter ready at your disposal.
