~It started off as a monthly dinner so my friends and I could
catch up, etc. I usually cooked enough for an army and we would spend the rest
of the night grazing through everything. Then this past summer, some friends
from LA came up to visit. As I cooked, they just gravitated to the counter
stools like most do and watched. In a split second, I decided to serve them a
la minute at the counter, rather than bringing everything to the dining table.
And then The Restaurant was born.
Every month or so, I invite a few friends over so I can try
out new dishes, practice plating- essentially it’s an excuse to play the grown
up version of restaurant. Not everything
is such a success, but I am very fortunate that my guinea pigs still love to
keep coming.
